I recently got a wonderful opportunity to donate to Baywood Elementary School for their annual auction. Although, I don’t have children there, it is so important to me to help support such a fabulous school that serves all of san mateo county. So…where does my donation go…? It will help to support their art, music and PE programs; who would have thought that these programs are now privately supported? These enrichment programs are essential because they bring a well rounded education to all the children there. So..Baywood Elementary school goes Vegas this Saturday night for their yearly auction and it is so special to help to be a part of that in my local community! .

Some great safety advice regarding Halloween costumes for Dogs (and any pet)

Is your dog wearing a costume this Halloween? If so check out the safety tips below to keep in mind to make this holiday a safe one.

1. Don’t force your dog to wear a costume if he doesn’t want to!! Remember, Halloween is supposed to be fun for everyone; you don’t want your dog to be sad and anxious.

2. How is your dog’s energy level? If your dog is a bit hyperactive, he could “shake off” a costume that has several parts.

3. Make sure the costume is the right size. If the costume is too big, your dog can trip over it and injure himself/herself.

4. Does the costume doesn’t have any pieces your dog can bite off or choke on?

5. Make sure the costume allows him to “go potty” when needed.

6. Your dog should try on the costume ahead of time, if possible, to make sure he can get used to it.

7. Remember to keep your dog away from any burning candles, fires or cigarettes

8.Your dog can get very sick if he eats candy he finds laying around the house or yard.

9. Beware of candy wrappers too! Some dogs like to eat candy wrappers because of the smell, but wrappers could cause your dog to choke.

Choosing the right costume may be a bit more difficult this year, but the good news is that there could be another way for your dog to enjoy Halloween….

Just give them something they are sure to love like their OWN toy or treat!!

There are now new energy and water ordinances in San Francisco that require all residential properties to be inspected, certified and, if necessary, retrofitted upon resale. The San Francisco Energy and Water Conservation Ordinances are expected to save San Francisco up to 4 million gallons of water a day by 2017. Of course this is great for conservation but it is also one more thing that needs to be taken care of prior to close of escrow, if you are a homeowner in San Francisco. If you do have fixtures that are not up to code or may be leaking this would be a good time to get them repaired or replaced, and you are better off doing it now. Otherwise, upon the sale of your home, 1% of your home’s value could be held back in escrow until the work is completed. I think this update on San Francisco ordinances is definitely “newsworthy” and I hope it is beneficial to all who live or consider living in “The City” by the bay.

Two brooms were hanging in the closet and after a while they got to know each other so well, they decided to get married.

One broom was, of course, the bride broom, the other the groom broom.

The bride broom looked very beautiful in her white dress. The groom broom was handsome and suave in his tuxedo. The wedding was lovely.

After the wedding, at the wedding dinner, the bride-broom leaned over and said to the groom-broom, “I think I am going to have a little whisk broom!”
“IMPOSSIBLE !” said the groom broom…
